Cold water swimming is the activity of open water swimming in cold water, generally defined as 10°C (50°F) or less using standard swimwear rather than using wetsuits or other thermal protection. Cold water swimming is any form of swimming that would be extreme in terms of distance, water temperature or water conditions done in winter.
